10 Makeup Tips for Any Girl Who Wears Glasses
Set your Foundation Well
Many girls who wear glasses mistake this first crucial step and find creases and ruined spots where the frame touches skin. For this, it is important to set your foundation using a loose powder well. It will make it harder for your frames to carve lines or uneven makeup on your face. Use a loose setting powder to set your foundation if you choose to apply one. Either foundation or for a lighter and more natural look, you can go for BB cream.
Apply it to set around your nose, forehead, sides of your forehead near the sides of your eyes which touches the frames and your under eyes.
Once you have set the foundation, brush away softly the setting powder. Use a concealer next that you are comfortable and lighter than your skin tone and foundation. Apply it in an inverted triangle shape under your eyes and blend it well. This is to conceal all the dark circles that you might have and instantly highlight the eyes and under eyes in best way.
Because of your frames, your dark circles can look worse so it is important to apply the concealer and brighten your eyes.
Use an Eyeshadow
It is important to use a complementing Eyeshadow color for your frames. You can go without it if you feel like not doing so, but it is only accentuating your eyes rather than going all in. Stick to some of the neutral shades such as brown, pale brown and black. Use a slightly darker color than your skin tone into the crease and mark it well. Now going for a little darker color than that, mark out only the ends of your eyes and blend it inwards.
Only by these two steps, your frame will compliment your eyes very well along with your eyes. Only have to add a little bit on the crease and a little bit in the ends of your eyes to make a horizontal V.
Use Eyeliner or Eye Pencil
Eyeliner or eye pencil is a must if you are looking for makeup tips for girls who wear glasses. You can simply go for winged eyeliner and make it thicker rather than a light one. It will help you to bring out your eyes even from under the glasses and complement it altogether. Or as an alternative you can also go for eye pencil on your lower eye and smudge it out a little.
If you are the one to go bold, you can just skip the eye shadow part and do both, eyeliner and eye pencil to get that hot, smoky look.
Shimmer on Lower Lid
Adding just a touch of shimmer on lower lid can also bring out your eyes. It is not about each and everything mention here. But to try and do whatever you think suits you to bring out the best. Just a touch of shimmer with a small brush on your inner corner and lower lid can make you appear more attractive.
If you are wearing glasses, make sure your eye game is strong and for that you can go for Eyeshadow part we mention earlier. And then just top it all off with some shimmery color in centre and a thin layer of eyeliner or eye pencil.
Fill in Your Brows
Do not go too heavy with your brows. Make them look natural by filling them in using a shade matching your eyebrow hair. Skip using wax or harsh products and if not necessary, skip carving out an entire eyebrow.
All you need to do is fill them up and conceal the gaps with a eyebrow pencil and you are good to go.
Curl your lashes
Rather than applying mascara, you can just curl your lashes using an eyelash curler. One of the problems that girls with glasses encounters is applying mascara as that will just smudge against the glasses when you blink. So instead only curl your lashes to make them look styled or if not preferable, skip this part altogether.
Mascara on your Lower Lashes
Once done with the upper lashes, we come on the lower lashes. Skip mascara on top but try to apply it on your lower lashes to make them look longer and eyes bigger. It will also help you to use mascara because we all know, being bespectacled that it can go dry without ever using them with glasses on. Just have them on lower lashes and see the difference for yourself.
Blush is also something that you don’t want to miss when you are wearing glasses. It will add some color to your cheeks if it has been covered up by the frame. Even though a bigger frame can give you more space for makeup, it can also cover up your cheeks. So a little bit of blush can help you to bring back some color as well as make you look blushed and cute.
To top it all off, choose a bold lip color to compliment all your effort at makeup and glasses. You can go with smokin’ red, dark brown, fuchsia pink or even black. Believe it or not, black lip shade is the trend nowadays. But always remember:
- Heavy eye makeup asks for a lighter or neutral lip shade. So if you are doing all the Eyeshadow tricks mention above, go for neutral lip color.
- If you are wearing a cat eye liner or just mascara and lower eye liner, go for full on bold lips. Even the mascara, blush and red lips make you look like a bomb without even trying.
So you see there are ways that even the glasses can bring out the best in you with just a touch of makeup. Everyone is beautiful, glasses or not. It is about embracing oneself the way we are. And there is nothing wrong with touching up the beauty you are born with. There we come in to teach you how.
